Nationwide protest marks first night in March in Chile
[resumen.cl] Cacerolazos (traditional Latin American form of protest in which people make noise with pots and pans to demand the resignation of a government) have been taking place in various parts of the country tonight, 1 March, a key month in the popular mobilisation that the people of Chile have been experiencing since the ‘Social Explosion’ (Estallido Social) began in October. These demonstrations were called on social media, and are occurring whilst Chilean president Sebastián Piñera is speaking on state television.
